Dollar Per Rider has a new look and a simpler structure for 2027. Events that take part pledge a portion of their entry fees to LMB. Those pledges fund our work for safer roads and more accessible trails. Here is what changes, for riders and for event organizers.
For Riders: Look for the Badge
Every Dollar Per Rider event now carries a tier badge on the LMB Ride Calendar. The badge tells you that part of your entry fee supports LMB. When you choose one of these rides, you support better bicycling in Michigan.
There are three badges: Pacer, Elite, and Champion. Each step up signals a bigger commitment from the event.

For Event Organizers: One Pledge, Three Tiers
We’ve adapted this long-running program to give event organizers and directors an additional avenue for marketing and recognition that works within their event budgets. That matters most for smaller events.
Starting in 2027, each event makes one pledge to LMB for the year. Your pledge sets your tier. The higher the tier, the more we promote your event.
The pledge is a minimum, not a cap. Giving more is always welcome. If you organize several events, each one makes its own pledge.
Pacer · $1 Per Rider
Pledge $50 to $249.
- Pacer badge on your Ride Calendar listing
- Event listing with a link in our monthly Dollar Per Rider email
- Included in our monthly Dollar Per Rider social media post
- Discounted LMB advertising rates
Elite · $2 Per Rider
Pledge $250 to $499. You receive everything at the Pacer tier, plus:
- Elite badge on your Ride Calendar listing
- Expanded email listing with a link and your event description
Champion · $5 Per Rider
Pledge $500 or more. You receive everything at the Elite tier, plus:
- Champion badge on your Ride Calendar listing
- Premium email listing with a link, a description, and a photo
- A spotlight post for your event on LMB’s Facebook and Instagram
The $1, $2, and $5 Per Rider names stay, so riders still recognize each badge.
Grow Your Tier
Strong turnout pays off. If your event outperforms expectations, let’s have a conversation about increasing your donation and, if applicable, bumping into a higher tier next year.
Show Your Support: The Proud Supporter Mark
Every pledged event receives LMB’s Proud Supporter mark for its own website. It tells your riders that your event backs safer, better cycling in Michigan.
We send the full graphic set to every pledged event. It includes horizontal and stacked versions, color and white versions, web-ready PNGs, and vector files.
We make two simple requests: display the mark at 220 pixels wide or larger, outside your sponsor grid, and link it to the page on LMB.org that we provide. The mark carries the year, so each renewal brings a new one.
Proud Partner
Some events and organizations support LMB beyond the Dollar Per Rider tiers. For them, we offer a Proud Partner mark in the same design. If your event plans to give well beyond the Champion tier, talk with LMB staff at office@LMB.org. We will work with you on a partnership that fits your support.
How to Enroll Your Event
- Send your pledge. Fill in the Pledge Sheet (PDF) and email it to office@LMB.org.
- List your event. Use the Add/Edit an Event form on the Ride Calendar. Check Dollar Per Rider, then pick the tier that matches your pledge.
- We review and publish. LMB staff approve every listing. Your tier badge appears once your event is live.
- Give after your event. Fulfill your pledge with the Donation Sheet (PDF).
Both forms are fillable PDFs. No printing or scanning needed.
