Our FUNdamental Skills Clinics focus on all level of riders who want to improve their fundamental skills and provide the confidence needed to ride natural surface single track trails in Michigan and beyond. Our Level 1 certified coaches will explain and demonstrate the foundational skills, provide riders with individual feedback, as well as advanced progressions of these skills. Some of the skills covered will include but are not limited to:
- Neutral and Ready Positions
- Bike/Body Separation
- Braking and Shifting
- Ratcheting
- Riding Straight Lines
- Switchbacks
- Climbing – Climbing Positions, Restarting on a Climb, Climbing Dismount
- Descending – Descending Dismount, Braking on Descents
- Roll down
- Front and Rear Wheel Lifts
Cost is $225 per rider. Registration includes a light breakfast and lunch.

Cornering Clinics
Register for Oakland County Fall Cornering Clinic
Clinic times: 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Clinics will be held rain or shine
Your coaches for the day, Jimmie and Melissa Colflesh, will spend the first one to two hours demonstrating and coaching you through the skills required to corner in a controlled environment. They will cover the ready positions, side to side body-bike separation, and cornering techniques.
After you become comfortable performing the cone drills, they will lead you out onto the trail to apply these techniques in real conditions and at speed.
Please bring a functional mountain bike with the ability to lower the seat, if your bike is not equipped with a dropper post, as well as a properly fitting mountain bike helmet. Gloves, a hydration pack, a basic tool kit, and flat repair kit are also recommended.
Please bring your own food and drink to have with you during the duration of the clinic including while on the trail. We will have some nutrition as well as water and Gatorade available for you.
Be prepared to be on your bike or standing during the duration of the clinic.
Pre-registration is required, there will be no day of, or walk-up registration for this event.
This clinic runs from 12 p.m. until approximately 4 p.m. Make sure to tell the gate attendant you are there for the Cornering Clinic.
