MMBA: Fall Skills Clinic Success

Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance (MMBA)’s FUNdamental Mountain Biking (MTB) Skills Clinics returned this month for a weekend at Addison Oaks on October 12-13. The weekend was a huge success! Saturday’s signature clinic covered essential foundational MTB skills, while Sunday’s clinic focused on cornering techniques.

We had a great group of riders of all levels come out to hone their skills and do their thing. Saturday’s FUNdamentals Skills Clinic provided a solid foundation for mountain biking newcomers, covering the essentials like body positioning, balance, and braking techniques. It was great to see riders gain confidence as the day progressed, mastering the basics and ready to tackle more challenging trails.

On Sunday, the sold out Cornering Clinic took things up a notch and our certified coaches helped participants fine-tune skills required to corner in a controlled environment, covering the ready positions, side to side body-bike separation, and all cornering techniques before leading clinic participants out onto the trail to apply these techniques at speed in real conditions.

A special shoutout to our amazing coaches, LMB staff, and sponsors who made these clinics possible. We’re proud to continue offering these clinics to the Michigan MTB community. Stay tuned—more clinic programming is coming soon!
