Join the LMB and our partners for a great ride celebrating the newest section of trail in Jackson, MI! Thanks to a generous donation from the Mike Levine Foundation, another gap in the Great Lake to Lake Route #1 Trail through Jackson has been connected.
This project is a perfect example of the strong partnerships that continue to grow Michigan’s trail system. When LMB took over the Michigander a few years ago, this area was brought to our attention. The “Jackson gap” created a bottleneck where riders had to leave the trail and navigate local roads to continue their journey across the state.
Not anymore! Thanks to the dedication of everyone involved, this new trail segment now closes that gap and makes the route smoother, safer, and more enjoyable for all.
LMB Events Director Neal Glazebrook , joined by LMB board members and Executive Director Andy Roher, will lead a relaxed, scenic ride from the Jackson County Parks office to the end of the newly completed trail section — and back. It’s the perfect way to experience this exciting new connection firsthand and celebrate another milestone in Michigan’s growing trail network.
We’ll also have a few extras to make the day even more special:
-
Commemorative T-shirts for the first 20 riders – limited sizes available.
-
Snacks and water to keep you fueled and refreshed
-
Announcements and remarks from our partners
-
And of course, a fun, low-key ride to celebrate the opening of this incredible new connection in the Great Lake to Lake (GLTL) Trail system
Come out, join the ride, and be part of this exciting moment for Michigan’s linear trail community!
