Mountain Goat Mash

Mountain Goat Mash (2025) is the 6th annual event, which also offers a trail run option for those that enjoy traversing the forest trails on foot. The mountain bike event offers two distances for bike enthusiasts (15m or 30m). The 30 mile course utilizes all of the singletrack (Just Beechy, Cedar Streak, Hemlock Valley, and Doing Oak Eh) at Valley Spur Recreation Area of the Hiawatha National Forest, while the 15 mile participants (including trail runners)  will end their ride after the first loop “Just Beechy” with a short rip through the beginner trail “Doing Oak Eh”, which will direct all riders into the finish line shoot.  This event is a fundraiser for Munising Bay Trail Network and all profits from the event go back into the maintenance and expansion of singletrack trails in the Munising area.  MBTN volunteers are considering adding a youth event to the 2025 event and would love to get feedback from those interested on whether that is something you would like to see offered.
