KalTour features the scenic and varied roads and landscapes of Kalamazoo County. All routes start in the picturesque village of Schoolcraft in southern Kalamazoo County, just off the US 131 freeway, eight miles south of I 94 exit 74. From our start location at Schoolcraft High School riders travel on low-traffic rolling back roads, passing orchards vineyards, farm fields, wetlands, and wooded hills. Century riders travel in a loop around Kalamazoo County starting in the agricultural land in the east of the county. After crossing the Kalamazoo River they reach the hills in the northwest before heading south. Food stops on the century route are an old mill, a township park, and a state fish hatchery. The 62, 50, and 31 mile routes head east and north with a stop at the mill. The 15 mile route makes a rest stop at a county park with a swimming beach before returning for lunch at the end of the ride. All routes include snacks and lunch with sandwiches, cookies, and watermelon is served after the ride.
New for 2023! Ride headquarters will be the Wind & James Event Center in Schoolcraft. W & J is located one half mile south of our previous starting location. We will have the use of this large indoor facility for pre- and post-ride activities.
