NorthWest Tour

We are preparing for the 18th annual NorthWest Tour – June 4-8, 2025. We are excited to be riding again in the beautiful area of Traverse City, Leelanau Peninsula, Elk Rapids, Suttons Bay, and surrounding areas and lakes. The ride is sponsored by the Tri-County Bicycle Association (TCBA). We hope you have a great experience and we look forward to meeting you on the tour. The tour features great scenery on good roads through many small towns and tourist areas, all from the convenience of a single camping location. Have we mentioned hills? Northern Michigan as plenty of them!

The routes will take us through north western Michigan’s small villages and towns. Each day will offer a long route and a short route supported by a SAG driver. You can also drive your car to a starting location and ride any section you choose. Bring your cross, fat, or mountain bike as the campground is next to the VASA Pathway. Each day’s route begins and ends at the campground. The first and last days are of the shorter variety to allow for travel time. Be prepared for hilly terrain no matter which routes you take.

The tour is primarily a tent camping event. Set up your tent once and enjoy the day’s ride. The campsites are in a wooded area with clean restrooms and showers. Tent camping is included in your fee. Those with RV/campers, pop-ups, tents attached to wheeled vehicles will reserve their sites through the campground at extra cost. After registering for the tour, call Timber Ridge at (231) 947-2770. NorthWest Tour has a block of RV sites reserved. RVs will not be allowed in the designated tent area. All sites have water and electric.

Included in the basic fee of $375 are tent camping facilities, route maps, SAG service, and catered meals and basic mechanic services. Breakfast and dinner Thursday through Saturday and breakfast on Sunday are provided and served under a large canopy in the camping area. Try one of the many eateries in Traverse City for Wednesday dinner. Lunches are on your own. There are also group campfires with S’mores and munchies on some evenings.
