KalTour features the scenic and varied roads and landscapes of Kalamazoo County. All routes start in the picturesque village of Schoolcraft in southern Kalamazoo County, just off the US 131 freeway, approximately eight miles south of I 94 exit 74. Riders will travel on low traffic rolling back roads, passing orchards vineyards, farm fields, wetlands, and wooded hills. The 62, 50, and 31 mile routes head east and north with a sag stop at Scotts Mill County Park. The 15 and 10 mile routes make a rest stop at a county park with a swimming beach before returning for lunch at the end of the ride. All routes include snacks and lunch. Sandwiches, cookies, watermelon and root beer floats will be served after the ride. Routes are color-coded and are marked on the pavement. Printed maps are provided, and routes can be downloaded from Ride With GPS.
Ride headquarters will be the Wind & James Event Center in Schoolcraft. We will have the use of this large indoor facility for the post-ride lunch.
