The Leelanau Harvest Tour is a great biking adventure for both families and single riders as the fall colors begin to show and the orchards and vineyards are laden with fruit.  The LHT ride offers 4 different routes, with the first 9 miles on the scenic Leelanau Trail.  The routes are on paved roads and trails, and pass by many farms, quaint villages and nearby Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.  The tour includes 4 food stops along the various routes and a picnic lunch with beverages at the finish.  Optional commemorative short and long sleeve t-shirts are available.

Beautiful Routes;  The 20 mile route starts with 9 miles on the Leelanau Trail and then follows the east side of South Lake Leelanau to a food stop right on the lake.  After a short climb and several miles of road riding, this route returns to the Leelanau Trail for the last 4 miles.  This route is ideally suited for younger riders and families.

The 40 mile route begins the same as the 20 mile route to the first food stop, but then continues north along the east side of the lake into the Village of Lake Leelanau.  Once past the Village, the route passes along the east side of North Lake Leelanau with gorgeous views and a second food stop at a Township park on the lake.  After a short stint on M22, the route heads inland where there are gorgeous vistas of the Manitou Passage of Lake Michigan and both Manitou Islands.  The route ends up with a long descent on Setterbo Road into the Village of Suttons Bay and a picnic lunch at Herman Park.

The 64 mile route continues further south on the Leelanau Trail than the first 2 routes, and then heads westerly to a food stop at Myles Kimmerly Park at the 25 mile mark.  The route then turns north, down a beautiful valley along Bohemian Road and east around the north side of Little Traverse Lake.  After a few “rollers”, the route heads up the west side of South Lake Leelanau and into the Village of Lake Leelanau.  Here, the 64 mile route re-joins the 40 mile route and up the east side of North Lake Leelanau.  See the 40 mile route description for the balance of this route.

The 100 mile route is the same as the 64 mile route until past the 2nd food stop, and then it continues north through the Village of Northport to the Grant Traverse Lighthouse located at the tip of the Leelanau peninsula.  After leaving the lighthouse, there is a third food stop at mile 77.  Then you head south along a rural route with great vistas of the “big lake” and a grand finish with a climb up Otto Road and a fast descent to the picnic at the finish.
