Adventure Cycling Association is looking for one or two volunteers to help gain local agency support for U.S. Bicycle Route 35 in western Michigan. You can read about this effort http://bit.ly/muskegonusbr35 and learn more via the Adventure Cycling Forums www.adventurecycling.org/forums/index.php?board=34.0
The draft route, which travels along the Lake Michigan shoreline, was developed by a Corridor Committee made up of city managers, planners, and other municipal officials. Paul VandenBosch, a Project Manager with the city of South Haven is leading the effort and needs support in contacting and working with the local road authorities. If you are interested in helping with this very important task, please click on the link below and fill out a brief survey that will tell us a little bit about your experience and skills. www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22BAFYYQNCX Background Information: The U.S. Bicycle Route System (www.adventurecycling.org/usbrs) is a visionary project that will connect many of the existing (and envisioned) bicycle routes around the country into an official, national network of cycling routes, linked coast-to-coast across state lines. Please view the National Corridor Plan map (www.adventurecycling.org/corridorplanmap) which serves as a blueprint to guide implementation of the 50,000-mile network. Michigan has two of the six U.S. Bicycle Route (USBR) corridors outlined in the plan currently under development; USBR 20 and USBR 35.
